March 6th Release Showdown

With the flurry of highly anticipated sneakers that have already released in 2010, some of us are probably seeing the hole in our wallets burning wider and wider (myself included), and it’s only February! So we’ll have to choose wisely as we are faced with yet another round of some serious heat come March. Two of the more sought after shoes to drop next month are the Jordan 6 Rings Motorsports 25th Anniversary and the Foamposite One Eggplants. Having both drop in the same month is already pressure enough, but the fact that they’re releasing on the same day, oh the humanity.. This leads us to pose the below question, alot of you have already made up your minds I’m sure, but let us know!

How to sell your sneakers using the power of Facebook & Twitter

One of the things that most people are intrigued about SneakerListing.com is how well the site integrates with Facebook, the most popular social network in the world today. Here are just some of the ways SneakerListing.com differs from other sneaker classifieds websites and marketplaces:

1. Each new listing that is added is immediately get posted to every sneaker page on the Sneakers Application on Facebook. This is done in real-time meaning anyone that uses the Sneakers Application immediately sees your listing.

2. Each listing provides you easy sharing links to post to your Facebook. For example, there is a link called “Facebook Share”, when clicked the following window will come up. By sharing, you are advertising your item on the newsfeeds of all your friends on Facebook. Also, there is a “Share on Twitter” link on each listing that allows you to quickly tweet your listing. The name and link of the listing is filled in automatically and all you need to do is click Update. Give it a try!

New Feature on the Sneakers Application on Facebook – Sneaker Battles!

We want to remind everyone that we recently added new functionality to our Sneakers Application on Facebook. For those of you who’ve participated in other sneaker social networks before, you should be familiar with online sneaker battles. It is essentially a game where you can upload pictures of your own kicks, and pin it up against others and have people vote on the winner. It can be addictive and a very cool new feature that we hope you would enjoy, check it out today!

Sneaker Con 2010 Recap

Sneaker culture once again flexed its muscles yesterday at Sneaker Con 2010 and it was certainly alive and kicking. I was fortunate enough to get a table for SneakerListing.com and the Sneakers Application at the event. I met some awesome people while my eyes feasted on some of the rarest kicks NYC had to offer. The venue was big enough to hold the estimated 800 guests that came through and the DJs were spinning some way back joints that I couldn’t stop moving to. Couple that with having an opportunity to tell everyone about our web services, I was certainly in sneaker heaven for one day. Biggups to Yu-Ming at SneakerNews & Freshnessmag.com, Carlos from SneakGeekz, Allan from Sneaker Con, Evan from NiceKicks and Greg from CultureShoq.

SneakerListing.com is looking for help! Ever since day one we have said that this site belongs to the whole of the sneaker community. In order for that to be true, we would like to put the powers of moderation into our users hands. Having said that, we would still need to maintain the integrity of the site by entrusting these responsibilities to knowledgeable individuals that can represent the culture.

Calling all experienced forum moderators – If you have experience in moderating sneaker forums, are knowledgable in all things sneakers, are web savvy, and are interested in participating in our site, please do the following. Send a brief bio of yourself (one or two paragraphs), Include your age and where you currently live. Please describe and also include links or examples of prior experience in the field and also links to your social networking profiles. (Facebook, Twitter, SP or KicksOnFire Profile, etc)

This is not a paid position as the site is currently just starting out and not profitable. However, if the opportunity for revenue presents itself in the future, this will turn into a paid position. We are looking for 2 people.

R.I.P. DJ AM – a Friend and Fellow Sneakerhead

From his highly publicized obsession with sneakers to his renowned work as a talented DJ, DJ AM (aka Adam Goldstein) was every bit of a cultural icon to the sneakerhead community as he was to the music industry. We here at SneakerListing are saddened by the news and our hearts go out to his friends and family. Although his recent life was plagued by unfortunate events and bouts with substance abuse, we encourage everyone to celebrate his life, one that is filled with dedication to music and a passion for sneakers.
